I know someone who had an encounter with a similar beast, but it was in New Mexico in the 1970's. He and his guy buddies were sitting on a small rise one evening when they saw what they thought was a large dog, walking on all fours, wandering around an abandoned adobe about a mile away. The dog casually started toward them, and when it got within a hundred yards or so, one of the guys decided to yell at it. The 'dog' responded by standing on its hind legs and running toward the group. They all jumped in their cars and took off as fast as they could. He described it as looking just like a large, grey wolf running on its hind legs. I also know someone else who has a related a couple of second hand encounters, and a couple of people who encountered something that might have been similar but the details are too vague to say.
