I just did a paper on A Great and Terrible Beauty for my youth literature course and ended up re-reading the whole series. I never noticed in high school how much Bray put into this book...

What do you think makes it so captivating, who is your favorite character and why, and what is your favorite scene or quote from either A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, or The Sweet Far Thing?|||Gema takes you in all her journeys, It's a classic, I loved it|||I absolutely loved The Gemma Doyle Trilogy. They were the best books I've read in a while.

I really liked how Libba Bray described things in her story, not too much, but just enough to keep me satisfied. I didn't mind the present tense, though apparently some people did; I heard it confused them when they went to write.

The characters Bray created were wonderful. Pippa and Felicity weren't your stereotypical cliquish girls. Gemma is a great heroine, very strong, but with flaws. Ann really annoyed me at times; I couldn't stand how she wouldn't stand up for herself.

Karik was a great character (my favorite). I was so sad when he died. *sob*

Well, I don't remember any quotes from the Trilogy. I'll come back and edit when I find a few, okay?
