my parents are coming to visit me in dublin next week and want to take a day trip somewhere fun. they've never been to ireland and want to see some of its beautiful scenery but I also have 9 year old brothers so there should be stuff for them to do too (hiking or beach or something). Where's a good family place to go within an hour or so of Dublin?|||I'd say wicklow cause there's a lot more scenery and its a lot nicer. I've never been to howth but I live near bray and go to school there and other than the vbeach its not that nice.|||Personally I would recommend taking a DART and going to Malahide. Then take a 102 bus via Portmarnock to Sutton. Great journey. Beautiful sea coast. Then if you want to, take a DART again to Howth (2 stops). When it comes to Bray, there is not much to do in winter weather. Everything is closed, aquarium sucks! Wicklows sounds good as well. Try Powerscourt estate and Enniskerry Village, very charming, great for walks, good restaurants and food around and great mountain view. Your parents and brother might like it.|||I would reccomand Howth :) lovely scenery :)
also i would reccomand Glendalough in Wicklow absouloutly fab!|||Bray seafront is good plenty of fun for 9yr olds and the whole family too :)|||I think Bray would be your best bet.
