My donkeys won't bray at all. We got them as pasture buddies for my lonely ponies and my family loves to hear them bray. They brayed when we went to look at them. Since they have come ot our farm they do nothing but snort, grunt, and poop.|||They may be just acclimating themselves to the new place. Do you feed them or are they just pastured? If you walk out everyday with some feed for them to come to, they may start braying at the sight of you, the sound of your truck, or just because it is feeding time. Our donks bray for all of the above reasons and also to warn us of other people or dogs around.
If you just want to hear the bray, lead one out of the pasture and out of sight and I bet they will get very vocal missing their buddy. That grunting thing that they do fills their lungs with air getting ready for the bray.|||Maybe they don't have a reason to bray?
My guys bray when I show up to feed, when ppl drive by, when someone just looks at them.
Sounds like your guys are happy and content. I guarentee if you moved one out away from the other you would have lots of braying going on.|||they only bray if they have a reason. my donkey never really does it either. most only do it at night or if needing attention. but they may bray some times and you just don't hear it a lot of them bray low enough to where it is barely audible.|||I think you will be glad about that later-- its going to annoy the hell out of you in a month if they start braying. If that's all that's wrong with them and they seem to be eating and acting normal don't worry|||They probably do it as soon as you pull out of the driveway! Maybe they are content & have nothing to complain about...
