Blair was most notable for attempting to secure better qualified ministries in Virginia by helping to found William and Mary College in 1693 and by serving as it's first president.
Bray was even more important to Anglican history, although, he spent only about six months in America, After his brief stay in Maryland, Thomas Bray returned to England to promote missionary efforts for the colonies. Two outstanding organization resulted from his efforts. The Society for the Promotion of Christan Knowledge, which provided Christan literature for missionary work and helped establish some forty libraries in the colonies. The Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts focused more directly on securing ministries for the colonies. Later Bray helped found an organization aimed at evangelizing blacks in America.|||idhjkl
