Hello -
My friend is flying out of LAX next week. She's been looking for a park-n- fly kind of place and have found maybe about 20 close to the airport. It's a bit hard going through all the rate information, trying to separate the real deals from the hype.
We just want a place that's economical and convenient. Any experienced flyer out there who can recommend something? How about if she just park at the airport, would she get a cheaper deal?
Thanks!|||I wouldn't recommend parking at the airport itself, if you're looking for something "economical." Central Terminal Area Parking is the most expensive at LAX, as @Obviousman noted, and the economy parking at Lot C isn't cheap either. I've also been seeing a lot of tweets lately by people complaining about the chaos at LAX on-site parking and how it would take 30 min to an hour for people just to get out of the parking facilities.
To make it easier for you to see ALL your LAX parking options in one page, check out BestParking.com. Use the rates calculator as the names of the different facilities will be ordered from the cheapest to the most expensive options.
As @A Hunch said, you get what you pay for, so in this case cheapest might not really be the best option. Once you've picked a facility at BestParking.com based on rates, try to see reviews about that garage or lot just to make sure.|||Parking at LAX is one of those things you get what you paid for.
My favorite is The Parking Spot (you can find coupons all over) - there are two locations that one is convinent for the north 405 travelers and another for the south 405 travelers. This is FAR from the cheapest place. It is one of the most convinence. They circle the shuttle, so you rarely have to wait 5 minutes or more to be picked up.
Prior to going to the Parking Spot. I would go to the more disount lots - I would wait and wait and wait at the airport for the shuttle back to the lot. The shuttle from the lot to the airport would only go every 15 or 30 minutes depending on the time of day.
- Once I waited 30 minutes at the airport and then called to see when they were coming. I was told "any minute". I waited another 15mins and called again & got the same story. After waiting for over 1 hour for the shuttle from the airport to the lot, I ended up taking a taxi. Taxi drivers wait up for 2 hours to get a call at the airport - can you imagine how sucky it would be to wait 2 hours to get your call and then the ride is 5 blocks outside of the airport. It was horrible!!|||The airport itself is going to be MOST expensive. There are a number of places to park around the airport, and sorting through them all is a bit time consuming, but boils down to this: The closer to the airport, the more expensive it is. I've done fine parking in Lot C, which is not too expensive. Wally Park has also served me.
