I'd love to live in a motor home in the LAX parking lot! How about you?|||I don't see any attraction to living in an RV in a parking lot in itself, but I can certainly see the advantage and practicality of it for pilots and other itinerant aviation workers. It would be more like the price to pay for the pleasure of flying for a living, rather than anything enjoyable in itself. Although I guess with sufficient money you could get a pretty nice RV (the article I read mentioned a very nice RV called the "castle," but it didn't include pictures).|||Been there done that, only it was a beat up cargo van with carpet on the floor, a sleeping bag, a camp stove and an ice chest, not a luxurious motor home. And I parked at a number of smaller airports, not LAX. About 3 years worth. When I wanted to be a professional pilot but didn't have the savings, income, or credit to pay for it, this was the cheapest way to go so I didn't have to pay rent and could put the money toward college and flying. It wasn't exactly awesome, but it did allow me to achieve something otherwise out of my reach.|||You'd be surprised if you knew just how many pilots do something like this. It's not uncommon to see a few pickups, with a camper on the bed, in the employee parking lot at an airport. Some pilots use them as crash pads.|||NO
