I always thought it was "Serk", but apparently my sister pronounces it as "Sers".|||"Sur-see"

Actually, I think it's more like

"Seer-see"|||I always thought of it in my head as "Serk-e" (Ha-ha I was off) but I looked it up and it's suppose to be pronounced "sur-see". I'll probably never get out of the habit of saying it wrong though.|||SUHR-see is how it's usually pronounced today.

Ancient Greeks would have pronounced it "KUHR-kee"|||I pronounce it "Ser-ss", like your sister. But according to Dictionary.com, it's pronounced "sur-see".
