Please don't say Twilight. Been there, done that. Thanks :)|||Okay, those authors have a supernatural/ fantasy flair to their books. So, I'm going to list my favorites in that genre with a few others.. ***loved **liked it *it was ok

Ghosts....***The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot- The first is Shadowland. (This book is fantastic! I read it many years ago, and it still remains one of my favorites)
Suze, a mediator (someone who can see, touch, and talk to ghosts) is forced to move to California when her mother remarries, and has 3 new stepbrothers. When she arrives, she finds a hot ghost in her room by the name of Jesse.

Werewolves...***Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause
Having fallen for a human boy, a beautiful teenage werewolf must choose between her loyalty and duty to her pack, or her love for a human, a "meatboy",

Vampires.....***Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. (I know you wanted a book different than what you like, but this is too good to leave out)
Rose, a dhampir, is her friend Lisa's protector. Lisa is a moroi princess, a vampire powerful with magic, but weak physically, Rose falls into a forbidden romance, that challenges her commitment to learning how to better protect her best friend from the Strigoi who want her on their side.

Historical drama and romance....***The Luxe by Anna Godberson
Enter the world of drama in the Victorian age, featuring Elizabeth, the golden, perfect girl, Diana, Elizabeth's wild, fun, younger sister, or Penelope a girl who gets what she wants no matter the cost. Through a series of events, Penelope settles her eyes on Henry, Diana and Henry fall for each other, and Elizabeth and Henry are arranged to marry.

Teen life issues...***Dreamland by Sarah Dessen
Rogerson Biscoe, with his green eyes and dark curly hair, is absolutely seductive. Before long, sixteen-year-old Caitlin finds herself under his spell. And when he starts to abuse her, she finds she's in too deep to get herself out.

Anorexia...Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
Lia and Cassie are best friends, wintergirls frozen in matchstick bodies, competitors in a deadly contest to see who can be the skinniest. But what comes after size zero and size double-zero? When Cassie succumbs to the demons within, Lia feels she is being haunted by her friend's restless spirit.

Suicide....Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker--his classmate and crush--who committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list.

***Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
Highschool Freshman Melinda's life takes a turn for the worst after calling the cops at an end of summer party. She goes from the top of the highschool popularity chain, to the bottom as an outcast. Can Melinda find the words to speak out about what happened at the party? (This book is great, but it could make you uncomfortable.)

Magic....***The Sweep series by Cate Tiernan. The first is called Book of Shadows.
Morgan and her best friend, Bree, are introduced to Wicca when a gorgeous senior named Cal invites them to join his new coven. Morgan falls for Cal immediately-and discovers that she has strong, inexplicable powers.

Ghosts/magic....**The Summoning By Kelley Armstrong
When Chloe Sanders has a public run-in with a ghost, she finds herself thrown into the Lyle House, (a home for troubled teens). There's more going on at the House than meets the eye and it's up to Chloe to figure it out, before it's too late.

Faeries....Need by Carrie Jones (I haven't read this but it looks really good)
Zara collects phobias the way other high school girls collect lipsticks. Little wonder, since life’s been pretty rough so far. Her father left, her stepfather just died, and her mother’s pretty much checked out. Now Zara’s living with her grandmother in sleepy, cold Maine so that she stays “safe.” Zara doesn’t think she’s in danger; she thinks her mother can’t deal.
Wrong. Turns out that guy she sees everywhere, the one leaving trails of gold glitter, isn’t a figment of her imagination. He’s a pixie—and not the cute, lovable kind with wings. He’s the kind who has dreadful, uncontrollable needs. And he’s trailing Zara.

If you feel in a mood to read about vampires, these are good.
