The reason why is because Tom Brady has cemented his name as the starter. In order for Cassell to take his job, that would mean he would have to play 10 times better than Brady did while playing for New England. That just won't happen. Here is what I do think. I think that Cassell is doing well, and this is his opportunity to show what he has. Think about this, many teams that are in need of a QB are watching to see what Cassell will do. So far he is playing very well. So the teams with QB situations are looking at him, and they are deciding upon whether he would be a good addition to their team. So I think that when Brady comes back and Cassell goes back to the bench, it is likely he will get offers from other teams. Nothing is worse than having a 20 something year old sit on the bench, wasting his career when he is capable of playing.
