bray and scarff: so i read A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray and i had a couple questions. 1)did you like it? i sorta liked it,... 2)i didnt get the part about breaking the rune thingies and Gemma's mother "dying" and already being dead and stuffs... could you explain it? 3)did you feel like it was childish at times, and good at other times? 4)Gemma is a bad name. i know, not a question, but still. 5)what was with her mom?|||1. Yeah, i did like it. But its one of those books that don't really leave that much of an impression on me 2. The runes held the power of the realms. This is the way the Order held/ controlled the amount of power being used by whoever. 3. Not childish. And it was definitely good 4. I like the name Gemma, its different. 5. Virginia Doyle was actually Mary Dowd, the friend of Sarah Reese-Toome aka Circe aka Ms. Moore. When she died she went to the realms to wait for when Gemma discovers she can go there too. When Gemma destroyed the runes and let loose the magic in the realms Virginia/Mary crossed over to where souls go. It wasn't really mentioned, but if you understand her character you would know that she would not let herself be corrupted by staying in the realms for too long. She crossed over after the Runes were destroyed because she knew what could happen once the magic was loose.|||havent read book sry.. will read as soon as i get a copy ****************** nope i dunno wat the cryin thing it but every day (and i mean EVERY SINGLE DAY) todd says hi ahana so did u have fun with ur brother.. n then he follows me around 4 the rest of the period singing u had sex with ur bro|||i liked it, i bit annoying at times but pretty good. well she dident die, she moved on to heaven i guess,she was in between worlds sort of. at times it was childish, but yeah it also had its moments. its popular in britain i think. dont know what you mean? mabey you need to finish the series and somethings might be clarified for you.|||1. I was kind of mixed about it....but it was the best of the trilogy. 2. I was confused about it too...idk 3. The writing style? Yes, it was, but it had its moments. 4. Hahaha. Yeah it's very different. 5. Her mom died because she messed with Sarah Rees-Toome(aka Circe) and the magic of the realms...yeah thats a terrible explanation.
