Someone told me that whenever you go through the checking points of the customs, your camera will be Brayed and easily be malfunction/spoilt.
Is this true?
And how would protect your camera?|||X-ray will not damage the camera. The huge magnets used for checked baggage could be an issue, but since it is always best to carry all your photo gear as carry on, I have never had to test that premise. My guess is that any film camera would be fine and DSLR's may be okay.
Why don't you call Canon or Nikon and ask. 800.NIKON-UX or 800.OK-CANON
Film is a different deal. It is best to have it hand inspected as you carry it on the plane. Exposed film is more susceptible to fogging than unexposed film. NEVER check film, always carry it on board with you.|||The x-rays and other scanning equipment used in airport checkouts is not strong enough to affect film or digital cameras, as an ex RAF Photographer and frequent overseas traveller I've taken both types through numerous security scanners.
